At the age of 64, I have had the privilege of being a part of the oil and gas industry for over four decades. My journey began as a frac hand and later evolved into an oilfield firefighter, where I learned the ropes and honed my skills. I am college-educated, with a focus on sales and marketing, and a major in small business. For a quarter of a century, I worked diligently in the heart of downtown Calgary, selling oilfield services. My expertise spanned various aspects of the industry, including fire fighting and safety services, downhole pipe, and running my own company providing downhole pipe accessories. I have seen the industry from the ground up and gained invaluable insights along the way. My career also took me into the world of financial services, where I became a licensed life insurance and mutual funds representative. Through this experience, I came to realize just how many Canadians are misinformed about their personal finances, and I am passionate about helping them navigate these critical decisions, especially through our educational system.

 

Originally from Montreal, one of my strongest assets is my fluency in French. In 1985 and 1986, I embarked on a 15-month backpacking journey around the world, which enriched my life with diverse experiences and perspectives.

In addition to my professional achievements, I have had the honour of being a three-time Guinness World Record holder for participating in the World's Longest Hockey Game in 2012, 2014, and 2022. Each game lasted 10 to 11 straight days, and together my fellow players and I raised a cumulative $4,375,000 for the Alberta Children's Hospital. It's not just about the records; it's about making a meaningful impact. I was also awarded the Oilympics Jeff Toews Memorial award as a guy who "Gets It," a recognition that highlights my commitment and dedication.

I am a proud father of two married adult daughters and a loving grandfather to two precious granddaughters, aged 6 and 3. My family is my rock, and they inspire me to strive for a better future. As I seek the federal Conservative Party of Canada nomination for Calgary Signal Hill, I am committed to utilizing my knowledge, experience, and dedication to serve our community and make a positive impact.
